The German networking brand Devolo has unveiled a new 5G router featuring Wi-Fi 6 wireless networking. The new product is an important expansion for the Aachen-based networking company and sees the brand adding to its range of PowerLine Devolo Magic products with its first 5G router.
The new router is aimed at anyone who can’t access fiber broadband or who might want a backup service to their fixed-line internet. The router is likely to appeal to owners of vacation homes or households that aren’t yet served by fixed-line broadband but can receive a good 5G signal. And with lots of 5G data SIM deals on the market right now, cellular broadband could be a viable and affordable alternative to fixed-line Internet services.
The new Devolo Wi-Fi 6 Router 3600 5G LTE router can connect to 100 devices wirelessly to the Internet where there may not be a fast fixed-line broadband service like fiber or VDSL.
The new router can provide client devices with stable Wi-Fi 6 networking using modern technology like OFDMA modulation which ensures effective and efficient modulation of data transmission.

Compared to older Wi-Fi standards, client devices that use Wi-Fi 6 can benefit from faster and more stable wireless connections. The new Devolo router is compact and works with 3G, 4G and 5G cellular data networks. The unit has 4x4 internal antennas and offers a range of connection options.
In addition to its Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the Devolo 5G router has a 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port and a single Gigabit LAN port. This enables it to be connected to a fiber broadband service and kick in if the main Internet goes down and many businesses like to have a fail-back service for redundancy.
As well as its LAN and WAN ports, the Devolo 5G router has an FXS port for plugging in an analog phone system for use with landline services provided by fiber broadband or VoIP services.
The new 5G router is easy to set up. All that’s needed to access high-speed wireless broadband is a power outlet and a nano SIM from a mobile network provider. The router can be configured using Devolo’s Home Network app which features an intuitive user interface. Alternatively, the router has a web-based interface for fine-tuning settings.
Users who already own Devolo network devices can combine all their equipment into one ecosystem and network by controlling everything using the free Devolo Home Network app which is available for Android and iOS devices.
